Why we're here.

The purpose.

“But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth”

-Exodus 9:16

We began this journey because we saw first-hand the fast decline in new Christian church members and a lack of engagement and regular attendance in current church members. There are several studies from the 1950’s onward that show that decline, including a 2004 study that shows that only 17.7% of the population in America attended a Christian church service on any given weekend – down nearly 40% since 1960.

When we study the Book of Acts, we see the rapid expansion of the early church throughout the world in a very short time. The Holy Spirit entered people’s hearts and overwhelming numbers of disciples were made in His name. If the church expanded that rapidly 2,000 years ago, why is the church declining today? According to several studies including a recent 2015 study by Pew Research, it’s because of the vastly different ways in which people communicate with each other every day – younger people especially.

Our Purpose is to use help churches to grow in numbers and faith through the use of targeted technology solutions.

Expanding his mission.

“…And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

-Acts 2:47

OurChurch Web is an organization that PARTNERS with churches and Christian organizations of faith, large and small, to help overcome the many technology challenges they face. But we do far more than that…

We started so that we could be a technology resource for your church to leverage to help BUILD your church. Helping your church build not just a new website, but a web community, will not only allow your church reach and make new Christians, but will also help you engage your current members beyond Sunday services.

We have Cell phones. Smart phones. Computers. Tablets. Internet. In 2000, 70% of young adults used the internet and that figure has steadily grown to 96% today.  At the other end of the spectrum, 14% of seniors used the internet in 2000, while 58% do so today. According to an August 2016 study by Pew Research, 59% of adults age 18-29 and 37% of adults overall found their new church by searching online. Plain and simple – if your church does not have a viable, functional, up-to-date web presence, you will not be found by most new members looking for a church home.

By integrating with simple things such as text notices, Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter and using more traditional means such as emails, OurChurch Web will help you to be found by new members, reinvigorate your church and reengage your members to further His mission.

Get involved.

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”

-Galatians 5:13

Getting people into the doors of your church on the weekends to learn more about Him is only half the battle. Getting and keeping your church membership engaged is another. Church members need to be encouraged to be thinking and acting on taking next steps in their faith through serving Him and other people through the other 6 days a week.

OurChurch Web has specialized in implementing technology solutions that keep your church members plugged in and informed of events in the church and the community throughout the week. That’s the difference between having a website and having a web community. Here are some of the solutions we’ve implemented that help members get engaged and serve others:

  • Web portals for small groups.
  • Weekly email blasts to a database of current church members reminding them of prayer concerns or serving opportunities, the latest happenings in the church and in the community.
  • Instant text notifications of emergency prayer or serving concerns to a database of subscribed church members.
  • Video recordings and podcasts of the latest Weekend services directly on your churches website for those to view who either missed a Sunday or who want to listen to a service before coming for the first time.
  • Regular, online bible studies that people can follow at home or at work with the minister.
  • Social Media integrations directly on your website to help you communicate through Facebook and Twitter.
  • And more…
